PLAYING WITH MATTERS

Updated: Oct 22, 2020

Ever wonder on how small is small actually? Never? Is it 1 cm is small and 1 mm is the smallest? Ever heard of nano? Techno? How about NANOTECHNOLOGY?

Welcome to the pistaqiology. So, this is actually my first entry for this site. Hope you enjoy reading ! Hey, so basically today's post will be talking about science ! Hello nerdies, come and get closer cause I'm going to tell you about the little things ❄️.

“I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth, but if it's true, it's you they add up to. I'm in love with you and all these little things”

You heard it right, that is from One Direction - Little Things and nope we not gonna talk about love right here uhm-hmm !

🎯 Let's Get Back To the Track..

Generally, we're all made up of small small things (little things?) and our starting point was from cells called sperm and ovum. That's enough for the introduction. I mean everything starts from small things like from bricks we can made houses 🏡 and from sugar we can made sweets 🍬 and the list goes on. But is there anything good with being small?

Imagine an ant and you are walking and suddenly it's raining ☔, who will be drenched first? Yes, the ant 🐜. But why? Because it's small and it size might be similar to a drop of rain. This is because a smaller things have higher surface area. And how is this good and brings benefit? If you have a big piece of sponge and you cut it into small pieces then put it in a bowl of water and on another bowl put one big piece of sponge into the bowl. Observe how the one with smaller pieces of sponge absorbs the water faster than the bigger piece. Smaller size has faster diffusion rate compared to the larger one.

Basically, that's how most things around us functioned. Taking the living example, us : we are made up of those little things (cells) that working up in our body for us to be living and doing things such as reading right now you're doing 😎. If we're gonna talk about nanoparticles, it would be a real long story but then let me make it simple for you. The size of nanoparticles are as much as the size of a sand grain compared to the size of soccer ball. In fact, a billion nanometer is equivalent to one meter 💥. Then, how fast can a nanometer size of sponges can absorb water compared to your typical size of sponge ? Amazing isn't it 🤯? That's a glance on what is nanoparticles and how is it benefit in life 🧩.

I guess that's it for today's posting and would appreciate any comments on how should I improve my writings. Still in the early stage of blogging and got so much to improve, thanks 🌙 !
